The Fritz Haber Project will tell the story of Haber, the Jewish-born Nobel Prize-winning German chemist responsible for both the chemistry behind artificial fertilizers (a technology that underpins the world’s food supply, feeding billions) and the invention of chemical warfare in the form of Chlorine gas used in WW1, and indirectly Zyklon, the gas used in the gas chambers of the holocaust.
It’s a wildly ambitious nut of a piece - which will use puppetry, music and chemistry —to tell the story of the power of ideas once unleashed, the human capacity for destruction, and facing one’s mistakes.
I’ll be developing the piece this June in Norway at this wonderful institution called FigureTheater. While they offer transportation/housing and a contribution towards expenses. I still need to raise an additional $9,000 to pay my collaborators and pay for materials. Thank you for your support.
